Universal Music Group – Artist Storefront Development

Global Technology, D2C Engineering – Summer 2024

During my internship at Universal Music Group (Fame House), I worked on direct-to-consumer artist storefronts powered by Shopify. My work focused on theme customization, Liquid development, UX improvements, and making sure fans had a smooth experience buying music and merch across desktop and mobile.

What I Worked On

  • Customized Shopify 1.0/2.0 themes using Liquid, HTML, and CSS.
  • Updated reusable sections and templates to match artist branding and creative designs.
  • Fixed layout issues, metafields, and mobile responsiveness.

Note: Artist storefronts are continuously updated by labels and campaigns. The screenshots below represent the versions that include my internship work.

Over the course of the internship, I contributed to six storefronts in total. These examples highlight a mix of theme customization, Liquid work, and UX improvements across different artists and campaign needs.
